Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe

I don't know about you, but I am a sucker for anything chocolate. My boyfriend's sister recently showed me this chocolate cake recipe that is to die for! Literally. You will want to eat the whole thing.

I won't keep you waiting, here is what you'll need:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 3/4 cups of Hershey's Cocoa

  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 cup of buttermilk

  • 1 cup of vegetable oil

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

  • 1 cup of boiling water

  • 1 bag of milk chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. I know that is a low temperature for a cake, but trust me...it's what makes it super moist. It is not a typo! So, don't crank up the heat - have patience.

Use butter or oil to lightly grease the 9x13 in baking pan then add a light layer of flour. Now, place all the ingredients above in a large mixing bowl, except the boiling water. Mix everything together until smooth.

Dip your (washed) finger into the cake mixture to make sure it tastes amazing! Next, add the boiling water and mix til it is combined. Then pour it into the baking dish.

The chocolate cake needs to cook hour and then it's all done! To test and make sure it is not raw inside, stick a fork in the middle. If the fork comes out clean, it's good! If not, allow it to cook for another five minutes in the oven.

Allow the cake the cool, then spread the melted milk chocolate chips evenly across the cake.

This is the easiest chocolate cake recipe you'll ever make.
